Top 8 things to do in Dublin

20/10/2025

Dublin, the beautiful capital of Ireland, is famous for its cobbled streets, legendary pubs, and incredibly warm atmosphere.

Autumn is honestly the perfect time to visit the city. Of course, if you're a Guinness fan like me, St. Patrick's Day is when you'll want to book your trip!

As a huge pop culture fan, Dublin instantly makes me think of leprechaun legends, magical streets that feel straight out of Harry Potter, and even the atmosphere of Game of Thrones. In short, Dublin is a magical destination that definitely deserves a place on your travel bucket list.

I was lucky enough to visit the city during autumn, and trust me, don't forget to pack a warm coat and a scarf!

1. Visit the Pubs

Pubs are quite literally the heart of Dublin.

Locals head there after work, students gather after classes, and visitors come to experience authentic Irish life. They're the perfect place to meet new people while enjoying a proper pint of Guinness... or whatever your favourite drink happens to be! Most pubs also feature live traditional Irish music, creating an atmosphere that's both lively and incredibly authentic.

And yes, I have to say it... Guinness really does taste fresher and better in Ireland than it does in France or Belgium.

Of course, you can visit the famous Temple Bar, but there are hundreds of fantastic pubs all over the city.

2. Join a Ghost Tour

Price: From €24

Discover Dublin's darker side through haunted streets, chilling stories, and fascinating legends. If like me, you're interested in paranormal tales or true crime, this is one of the best ways to explore the city.

3. Make your own silver ring

Price: From €80

Take home a truly unique souvenir by creating your own handcrafted silver ring. During the workshop, you'll learn how to make your ring from scratch before customising it to your own style.

It's also a fantastic activity for families with children.

4. Trinity College

Price: Around €16 for a guided tour

One of Europe's oldest and most prestigious universities, Trinity College is one of Dublin's greatest cultural landmarks. Its atmosphere feels almost magical, especially inside the famous Long Room Library, which many people say resembles something straight out of Harry Potter.

The university also hosts exhibitions, lectures, and cultural events throughout the year, making it well worth a visit.

Price : 31€

5. Guinness Storehouse

Price: Around €30 Advance booking is highly recommended.

An absolute must for beer lovers, especially if you love Guinness as much as I do! The original brewery dates back to 1759, when Arthur Guinness famously signed a 9,000-year lease for the site.

Don't miss the Gravity Bar on the top floor, where you'll enjoy panoramic 360° views across Dublin while sipping a perfectly poured pint.

6. Jameson Distillerie

Price: Around €31

Learn about the history of John Jameson and Ireland's world-famous whiskey. Although I'm personally not a huge whiskey fan, I still found the tour really interesting, and the distillery itself is beautiful.

7. The National Leprechaun Museum

Price: Between €11 and €24 depending on the tour

This was probably my favourite attraction in Dublin. Step into the magical world of Irish folklore as your guide shares traditional stories, myths, and legends through immersive themed rooms. Ireland has one of Europe's richest folklore traditions, and the leprechaun is undoubtedly its most famous mythical creature.

8. Kilmainham Gaol Museum

Price: €8 Make sure you book well in advance because tickets often sell out.

Kilmainham Gaol is one of Dublin's most fascinating historical attractions.

This former prison offers a powerful guided tour that explores Ireland's history while giving visitors a glimpse into prison life during the nineteenth century. The atmosphere is haunting but incredibly memorable.

Have you visited any of these places?

This trip completely convinced me that I need to return to Dublin, especially during the autumn holidays.
